Stampin Up! By the Tide

Stampin Up! By the Tide card

For today's card I have chosen the By the Tide stamp set. I wanted to make a couple of birthday cards for men who liked fishing so this fitted the bill perfectly. I used a design I found by Kathleen Wingerson and changed it just a bit.

For this card I used Night of Navy and Very Vanilla card stock, and Tip Top Taupe and Blushing bride inks.

I cut out the shells and used foam pads to attach them as well as the fish 'stamp' which give some extra dimension to the card. The ribbon is then new 1cm stitched satin ribbon in Crumb Cake.

For the second card I changed things slightly and used just Tip Top Taupe ink and added the seahorse stamp, and the new 1.6cm striped cotton ribbon in Lost Lagoon.

A great set of stamps for anyone who love the sea! There's also a lobster stamp which I haven't used here - look out for that in the future.

Stampin Up! Endless Birthday Wishes card

Hello everyone - today's post is part of the Pootler's Blog Hop! If you've arrived here via the hop, then welcome, and I hope you like my card!

Stampin' Up! Endless Birthday Wishes

Today's card is a cheerful birthday card using products from the new 2015/2016 catalogue. I like a happy card and I think this fits the bill nicely.

I've used the stamp set Endless Birthday Wishes which has lots of lovely combinations of words to choose from, and of course the cake and random bubbly things!

I've put the sentiment on a banner which I made using the new banner triple punch, and I've used the new In Colours of Watermelon Wonder, Delightful Dijon, and the wonderful Mint Macaron for the card stock and inks.

I coloured the cake in with In Colour marker pens.

This post is part of the Pootlers blog hop - I hope you'll take the time to have a look at the blog posts before and after mine!

Stampin Up! Build a Birthday card

Stampin' Up! Build a Birthday

Today's card is a lovely Rose Red birthday card with candles from the new fabulous Build a Birthday stamp set. I've jazzed things up a bit with some glitter card.

Those candles can also be layered into a cake if you lie them down - I love the way that Stampin Up! have made several of the new stamp sets multi-functional.

I've layered everything up with foam pads to add some depth to the card, and I also made a grey version.

The patterns behind the circles come from the Perpetual Calendar stamp set. I've used them and the sentiment in Rose Red for a tone on tone effect.

Stampin Up! Lovely as a Tree part 2

Stampin Up! Lovely as a Tree

Today's card carries on from the last post and also uses the Lovely as a Tree stamp set. This is another stamp from the set, and it's a very simple card.

I've masked off a strip in the middle with Post It notes, and then sponged as before. Then I peeled off the Post It notes and stamped the tree.

I haven't added a sentiment to this but it would be easy to add something down the side. Also, change the colours slightly and a bit of glitter, and this would make a great Christmas card don't you think?

Here I've used Smoky Slate, Night of Navy and Whisper White cardstock.

Stampin Up! Lovely as a Tree card

Stampin Up! Lovely as a tree

Today's card uses the Lovely as a Tree stamp set. This is a very versatile stamp set, and I've just used one stamp from it. I found this idea on Pinterest, by a lady called Heather North. I've changed it slightly, but this is my version.

There are many, many ways of using this set, but today I've used Post It notes and sponges.

First tear some Post It notes along the sticky strip, then attach them to your card stock

Then begin to sponge colour onto the hole in the middle. I've used Mint Macaron, Blushing Bride, and Tempting Turquoise here.

When you're happy with the sponging, carefully peel off the Post It notes and you're left with a beautiful irregular shape block of colour.

I stamped this image with Stazon, but for the image at the top of this post used Chocolate Chip.

A very effective use of colour I think. You could use watercolour paper and use aqua painters to give a different look. Hope you like it!

Stampin Up! Craft morning in Maël Carhaix

Look at all these lovely cards, aren't they great? They were made by the ladies at the Maël Carhaix craft club who invited me along to give them a demonstration.

They are all enthusiastic crafters, but had never tried stamping before. There was much hilarity, and we had a great time. I think they produced some fantastic results.

I chose to use the Butterfly Basics, and new Sprinkles of Life stamp sets because I think there are so many variations. Judging by the cards, I think the Butterfly Basics set was most popular.

I'd like to thank them for making me feel so welcome.

If you'd like a demonstration, either at my house, or at yours, please feel free to contact me - I'm happy to travel a reasonable distance from Maël Carhaix.

Don't forget that if you'd like to join Stampin Up! as a demonstrator during June, not only do you get the usual great deal of €175/£130 worth of items for €129/£99, you also get to choose two free stamp sets! Find out more HERE, or please contact me with any questions.
